This event aims to provide in-depth insights into the legal framework and practical considerations surrounding the annulment of arbitral awards, as well as the procedures for expedited and ad hoc arbitrations in Qatar.

The panel will delve into:

  • Setting Aside of Arbitral Awards: On the grounds and procedures for challenging arbitral awards in Qatar, as outlined in the Civil and Commercial Arbitration Law No. 2 of 2017, and will discuss recent experience of setting aside arbitral awards.
  • Expedited Arbitration Procedures: Recent experience of ICC expedited arbitrations, which emphasise efficiency.
  • Ad Hoc Arbitration: Examine the challenges and opportunities associated with ad hoc arbitration in Qatar, including the appointment of arbitrators and the role of national courts.

This seminar is particularly relevant for inhouse counsel, legal professionals and businesses engaged in or considering arbitration in Qatar. It offers a platform to understand the evolving arbitration landscape and to engage with experts on the practical and legal aspects of arbitration in the region.
