ICC YAAF: The Great Beauty at Issue – Art and Arbitration
Join us for a lively ICC YAAF discussion on settling disputes in the art world!
This ICC YAAF session offers an opportunity to explore issues concerning art disputes, including the suitability of arbitration as a canvas for resolving such disputes, the unique customs, practices, and needs of the art world, the usual suspects and stakeholders and the typical categories of art disputes, such as those relating to ownership, authenticity, provenance, misrepresentation, fraud, conversion, restitution, contracts, fair use and copyright. The discussion will examine current trends, the rise of specialized dispute resolution services tailored to art disputes, and the challenges in balancing legal principles, expert evidence in connoisseurship and forensic science, and the practical, personal, and reputational considerations that arise in these sensitive matters.

At ICC, we believe that through training and mentorship, we can shape the next generation of leading international arbitration and ADR experts. Through the ICC Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (YAAF) network, we are able to better inform, connect, and inspire young professionals with interests in dispute resolution and dispute avoidance.
Throughout the world, ICC YAAF organises a number of educational and social events that allow young professionals to discover best practices, discuss topical issues, network, and create meaningful connections with experienced practitioners.
