ICC YAAF: Starting Strong - Key Choices in International Arbitration
Objective
As part of the ICC Kenya Arbitration and ADR Days, this session brings together young practitioners and professionals for an interactive discussion on the strategic choices that can influence the course of an international arbitration from the outset.
The discussion will examine key considerations including the arbitration agreement, choice of arbitral institution and rules, seat and language of arbitration, and selection of arbitrators. Drawing on practical experience, speakers will explore the significance of these early decisions and their potential impact on the conduct and effectiveness of arbitral proceedings.
Participants will gain practical perspectives on approaching these decisions strategically, while engaging with experienced practitioners and peers. The session will also provide opportunities for meaningful exchange, professional networking and stronger connections within the international arbitration community.
Who should attend?
Young and mid-level arbitration and ADR practitioners, in-house counsel, other professionals interested in international arbitration, and students seeking greater exposure to the field.
