Join us for a practical discussion on navigating international arbitration practice, focusing on procedural choices, institutional dynamics, and the skills young practitioners need to operate effectively in cross-border disputes.

Objective

International arbitration practice increasingly requires young practitioners to operate across jurisdictions, institutions, and procedural cultures. As South Africa continues to position itself within the global arbitration landscape, understanding how international arbitration functions in practice has become essential for emerging practitioners.

This session brings together experienced practitioners to discuss the practical realities of navigating international arbitration, including procedural decision-making, institutional dynamics, and day-to-day practice considerations. Speakers will share insights drawn from their knowledge and experience handling cross-border disputes, with the discussion remaining accessible and practice-oriented.

Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how international arbitration functions in practice and how young practitioners can add value on cross-border cases. The discussion will equip participants with practical perspectives to navigate procedural choices, institutional dynamics, and professional roles within international arbitration matters.

A single, highly interactive roundtable followed by an extended Q&A and informal networking. Audience participation will be encouraged throughout.
