European Green Deal for SMEs | Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive

Online
English, Arabic, French, Spanish

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) are reshaping how businesses operate and report across the European Union and beyond. These regulations aim to improve transparency, accountability, and sustainability across supply chains — and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will increasingly feel their impact.

While the CSRD mandates sustainability reporting for listed SMEs starting in 2026, the CSDDD introduces due diligence obligations that extend through global value chains. Non-listed SMEs may not be directly covered, but will still face pressure from larger companies to provide sustainability data to meet their compliance needs.

Why this workshop matters

This workshop is designed to help SMEs across sectors and geographies understand what CSRD and CSDDD mean for them — and how to turn compliance challenges into competitive advantages.

What you will learn:

  • Understanding CSRD & CSDDD: A clear breakdown of the two regulations by a legal and trade expert, how they differ, and what they mean for SMEs — both listed and non-listed.
  • Sector-Specific Insight: Textiles & Apparel: Understand the growing demand for transparency in materials like cotton and synthetics, and the role of SMEs in ethical sourcing.
  • Digital Solutions and Competitive Advantages: Explore practical digital tools for traceability, data collection, and reporting that help SMEs meet compliance requirements efficiently — and use sustainability as a market differentiator.

This workshop is part of the Sustainability Pathways Programme at the ICC Centre of Entrepreneurship, and is part of the EU Green Deal series.
