2026 ICC Arbitration Rules: A Focus on Lusophone Africa
The 2026 ICC Arbitration Rules entered into force on 1 June 2026, reflecting the continued evolution of international arbitration and ICC’s commitment to meeting the changing needs and expectations of users worldwide. The revised framework places renewed emphasis on efficiency, clarity and usability, while preserving the flexibility, neutrality and procedural integrity at the heart of ICC Arbitration.
This webinar will explore the thinking behind the revision and consider how the updated framework can support more efficient case management, greater procedural flexibility, enhanced transparency and timely resolution of disputes. Speakers will share practical insights into the revised Rules and what the developments mean for businesses, counsel, arbitrators and other users of international arbitration.
With a particular focus on Lusophone Africa, the discussion will bring together perspectives from the ICC Secretariat and experienced practitioners from the region, providing an opportunity to consider the 2026 Rules through the lens of local practice and evolving user needs. Participants will gain both an institutional understanding of the revised framework and practical perspectives on its application within the Lusophone African arbitration community.
